Note: Windows ME and XP utilize a restore utilitythat backs up selected files automatically to the C:_Restorefolder.
The filename has been changed from “stinger.exe” to”s-t-i-n-g-e-r.exe” to circumvent anti-stinger tactics used bySober.p.
This means that an infected file could be stored there as a backupfile, and VirusScan will be unable to delete these files. You mustdisable the System Restore Utility to remove the infected filesfrom the C:_Restore folder.
